Readers in the News: Armory Arts Week
DART subscriber Jeanne Verdoux created the illustrations and lettering for Jerry Saltz’s pull-out guide in this week’s New York Magazine. I guess you could say this is the (UN)Armory Art Crawl. Here’s an excerpt:
See This Art by Jerry Saltz
New York is awash in art, with Whitney Biennial going
up and the Armory Show coming to town. But New York is always awash in great art (much of it not for sale - imagine that). Art critic Jerry Saltz has created six walking tours of galleries,
museums, and the street, singling out 44 particular pieces he loves. The booklet can give you only a taste - illustrated or crudely reproduced - so tear it out, put on good shoes, and take a look at
these works for yourself.

DART subscriber Mathieu Borysevicz, founder of BANK/MABSOCIETY, Shanghai,
presents Polit-Sheer-Form-Office: Fitness for Allat The Armory Show.
Fitness For All! is a slogan employed in the People’s Republic of China aimed at motivating society to exercise and pay more attention to their health. One
way this campaign is accomplished is through the installation of “exercise equipment” throughout public parks in China.
To some these machines and the activities upon them may appear strange but in fact they are scientifically designed to improve circulation, virility, and longevity. For The Armory Show PSFO provides a nurturing service for the fatigued art-fair-goer and aids society in the pursuit of a healthier life. The piece is installed at
T: The New York Times Style Magazine Media Lounge, as part of this year's special project, Focus on China. When you walk in at the main entrance, turn left, walk down
the first aisle to the end, the T Lounge is on the left. Information. BANK/MABSOCIETY.
